Meraki · London
Meraki's salt-crusted seabass is cracked open at the table, ingredients sourced village by village across Greece.
Meraki sits on Great Titchfield Street in Fitzrovia, opened in 2017 by Peter and Arjun Waney, whose family also built Zuma, Roka, Oblix and Coya. The kitchen sources Bottarga from Mesolongi, tomatoes from Santorini and butter from Crete, and runs the sharing-mezze model through chargrilled meats and whole fish carved at the table. A sun-drenched terrace and a lower ground floor with bare brick walls handle the larger groups.
The Grilled Octopus, served with Jersey Royal potato and a Pernod-lemon dressing, and the Salt-crusted Seabass, cracked open at the table and serving two, are the dishes that recur across reviews. Saturdays bring a resident DJ from 9.45pm. Meraki's own site carries event testimonials from Dior, Moët Hennessy, Lacoste and TikTok, naming the corporate clients it has hosted.
